Credentialed scan failing for Redhat Linux server which is running Samba service.
I am able to run the credentialed scan successfully for a Redhat Linux ( NO SAMBA SERVER RUNNING).
If anyone faced such issues, kindly provide steps how to proceed.
SSH creds should work regardless of SAMBA service.
All the plugins are enabled. When i do a credentialed scan, the results are showing as Windows OS and Samba service detection.
Those are plugins that are firing because SAMBA is present. What does 11936 say?
Plugin 11936 gives the below details
Remote operating system : Windows 6.1
Confidence level : 70
Method : smb
The remote host is running Windows 6.1
I would open a ticket with Technical Support and submit the scan data to be reviewed by the developers.
Thanks Cody. I already did the same. We even tried to do the scan from the scanners. Uploaded the scan results for the Tech Support.
I am able to telnet to the linux server using putty on port 22. Nessus Security Center is not able to find the port 22 to be open. Any suggestions.
i would ssh to Nessus Scanner..and the SSH to target from that IP. If there are any type of restrictions, you should see the issue.
